The Designhotel Wiesergut is where “casual luxury” comes to life. Set within the stunning alpine landscape of Hinterglemm, Austria, the hotel’s modern, minimalist architecture blends effortlessly with nature. Clean lines, natural materials like wood and stone and light-filled spaces create a calm, grounded atmosphere. It feels like a private retreat tucked deep into the mountains.
Exclusive rooms and suites: for couples and families alike
Our suite wasn’t just beautiful. It was thoughtful, functional and deeply relaxing. Spacious enough for a family, yet cozy. The quality of materials and clever design were visible in every detail – from the private Jacuzzi to the sauna. After a day in the mountains, this was exactly where we wanted to land. I haven’t slept that well in ages.
A quick note: While we enjoyed it as a family, Wiesergut is not a classic Kinderhotel. It’s for anyone who appreciates comfort and beautiful details, with or without kids.
Sustainability and a true connection to nature
What stayed with me was how deeply rooted Wiesergut is in its environment. The hotel is built with sustainable materials and a genuine respect for the landscape. The on-site restaurant uses regional, organic ingredients – you can taste the intention in every bite. Every meal added a layer of authenticity to the experience.

After a full day outside, there’s nothing better than a peaceful spa moment. The Wiesergut Spa offers steam baths, saunas and an outdoor pool with alpine views. Families can relax together, which made it feel even more special for us. The calm, the water, the view – the perfect close to a perfect day.
Culinary joy: a highlight for food lovers
The Wiesergut kitchen is something else. Modern, refined dishes rooted in Austrian tradition. The ingredients are local, the flavors bold but balanced. Breakfast is served individually, no buffet, which adds a lovely personal touch. And the coffee? Outstanding. Every meal felt curated, never rushed.
Nature all around – in every season
Wiesergut is the perfect starting point for mountain adventures. In winter, the ski lifts of Saalbach-Hinterglemm are right outside. In summer, hiking and biking trails are everywhere. Whether snow or sunshine, it’s a dream for families and nature lovers alike.
A luxury hotel that welcomes families
Despite its sophisticated atmosphere, Wiesergut was incredibly warm and welcoming to families. The kids were free to roam, to explore the gardens and simply be kids. We could truly relax. The staff was attentive and kind. There were even kids’ menus, which made meals easier. And the lifts being so close? A game changer.
A place to return to
Wiesergut is more than a hotel. It’s a place we’ll come back to. A perfect balance of design, nature and quiet hospitality. Whether we were in the spa, on the slopes or sipping coffee on the terrace, we felt at home. Our stay was calm, intimate and completely unforgettable.
Our stay at the Designhotel Wiesergut was an unforgettable experience for me and my two children. It’s a place where we weren’t just guests, but felt truly welcomed as part of a warm, family atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be hosted by a real family-run business, which made the stay even more personal and special. The extraordinary food was a highlight, because every meal was a treat, prepared with love and passion. The hotel’s location, right by the lift, is perfect in both summer and winter, it’s ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy nature all year round.
I keep imagining the perfect romantic breakfast outside, where the soft sunlight creates the ideal setting for a peaceful and intimate family moment to start the day right.
